What if what you’ve always called intuition is actually hypervigilance?
In this episode, I explore what it meant to discover that my awareness had learned to live everywhere except inside my own body—and how the very strategies I once judged were actually intelligent adaptations trying to keep me safe.
A reflection on vigilance, embodiment, compassion, and the quiet wisdom waiting beneath the strategies that once protected us.

What happens when nothing is wrong — and something deeper is still asking you to leave?
Sitting beside the ocean one evening, I found myself between two very different truths.
One said: Stay.
You are loved. You are safe. You have stability and comfort. There is nothing here you need to escape.
And all of it was true.
But underneath those very reasonable arguments was another question:
At what cost to your soul?
In this episode, I explore what happens when safety and expansion appear to be pulling us in opposite directions — and why perhaps we were never meant to defeat one in favour of the other.
We often talk about growth as though comfort is the enemy. Push harder. Take the leap. Leave the comfort zone.
But nature tells a more complicated story.
A seed needs warmth, moisture, nutrients and protection before it can grow. Roots need stability before branches can reach.
And eventually, the seed must break open.
Perhaps growth doesn't live on either shore.
Perhaps it emerges through the relationship between comfort and expansion, fear and possibility, the known and unknown.
The Nurturing Nomad enters the experience and listens for what is alive.
The Regulated CEO observes the architecture underneath it and notices something else: a nervous system with greater safety has access to more information.
Together, they reveal a different possibility:
Expansion isn't the enemy.
Comfort isn't the enemy.
Growth happens in the relationship between comfort and expansion.
So I'll leave you with the question I explore in this episode:
Where in your life are you standing on one shore, convinced you have to choose?
And what might become possible if, before deciding, you simply stood on the bridge for a little while?
Not avoiding.
Not delaying.
Just listening.
If this conversation stirred something in you, bring your chair to the fire.
I'm glad you're here.

For years, I tried to find the right container for my work — coach, practitioner, consultant, teacher, guide. Each one fit… somewhat. But eventually, something always felt missing.
I thought I had a problem with focus.
What I didn't yet understand was that I wasn't moving between unrelated interests. I was following the same thread through consciousness, trauma, nervous system, leadership, relationships, organizations, nature and lived experience.
I was looking for the patterns underneath them all.
Gathering often looks like scattering until the pattern reveals itself.
In this opening episode, I share the journey that gave birth to The Nurturing Nomad and The Regulated CEO — and introduce the two ways of seeing that shape this podcast.
The Nurturing Nomad enters life. She experiences, feels, explores and follows what comes alive.
The Regulated CEO observes. She maps patterns, studies internal state and asks what unseen forces are shaping what we perceive and how we respond.
They aren't two people.
They are two ways of gathering information.
The Nomad enters the river. The CEO studies the current.
One way of seeing gives us a picture. Together, they create depth perception.
This podcast lives somewhere between those two shores — between experience and understanding, intuition and analysis, certainty and curiosity.
A place where we don't need to have all the answers before we begin exploring.
If you've ever felt as though you didn't fit neatly into one box, or sensed there might be wisdom in the space between seemingly opposing truths, bring your chair next to the fire.
I'm glad you're here.
